The First Technical Committee Meeting of Intelligent Supercomputing Fusion Application Technology Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education was successfully held in University of Science and Technology Beijing

  On March 23, 2021, the first technical committee meeting was held at the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), led by USTB and jointly established by Dawning Information Industry Co. "(hereinafter referred to as the Center) was successfully held in Conference Room 1104 of the Mechanical and Electrical Information Building of University of Science and Technology Beijing. The Director of the Technical Committee, Mr. Zheng Weimin, and all the members (5 of them attended the meeting by remote video), Vice President of USTB, Mr. Wang Weicai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer and Communication Engineering, Mr. Jiang Tao, Vice President of the Institute of Science and Technology, Mr. Miao Shengjun, and Director of the Center, Prof. Hu Changjun, attended the meeting.

        The meeting was hosted by Jiang Tao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer and Communication Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing. Jiang Tao first introduced the experts and leaders of the Technical Committee as well as the participants. Vice President Wang Weicai delivered a welcome speech, issued appointment letters for the director and members of the Technical Committee, and inaugurated the center together with academician Zheng Weimin.

        The report on the work of the center was hosted by academician Zheng Weimin, and the director of the center, Professor Hu Changjun, made a detailed report on the construction of the center in 2020. The members of the technical committee of the center discussed and questioned carefully, and considered the documents of "Joint Construction Agreement of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Intelligent Supercomputing Fusion Application Technology", "Construction and Operation Management Measures of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Intelligent Supercomputing Fusion Application Technology The conference also considered the "Joint Construction Agreement of the Engineering Research Center of Intelligent Supercomputing Fusion Technology" and the "Construction and Operation Management Measures of the Engineering Research Center of Intelligent Supercomputing Fusion Technology", and put forward many valuable opinions and suggestions.

        The members unanimously agreed that the construction of the center is carried out in the right direction according to the guiding ideology of "focusing on the needs of the field, playing the advantages of supercomputing, focusing on the integration of supercomputing intelligence, breaking through key technologies, developing independent software and accelerating the transformation of results". The center plans the construction contents from four levels, including E-class supercomputers and core chips, basic parallel algorithm library and common application algorithm library of hybrid architecture, domain application platform, and massively parallel domain application system, and establishes key technologies with supercomputing as the core and the integration of intelligence, supercomputing and big data to serve the fields of reactors, materials and metallurgy, with clear objectives and feasible routes.


        In the year 2020, the center focused on the construction idea of "targeting application pain points, playing the advantages of supercomputing, condensing common technology, and focusing on transformation application", focusing on two core issues of independent and controllable software and common key technologies in the industry, and achieved representative results in high-performance multi-scale computational simulation of material irradiation damage, numerical reactor simulation, image and video big data intelligence and identification. We have achieved representative results in material irradiation damage multi-scale computational simulation, numerical reactor simulation, image and video big data intelligent identification and so on. In particular, the center has broken through some key core technologies of large-scale high-fidelity numerical simulation in material irradiation damage multi-scale simulation platform and numerical reactor research, established a complete set of software with independent property rights and achieved application effects, formed research characteristics and industry influence; the center has also achieved satisfactory results in team building, discipline development and talent cultivation.


        At the end of the meeting, academician Zheng Weimin made a concluding speech and put forward specific guidance and ardent hope for the development of the center!
